SEM Fit Calculator
Purpose of the SEM fit calculator program
This program computes various fit measures (CFI, RMSEA, AIC, etc) for structural equation modeling. The program computes all the fit measures calculated by Amos. However, it is intended primarily for the calculation of CFI and other Bentler-Bonett type fit measures that compare the fit of your model to the fit of some "baseline" model, in situations where you wish to specify your own baseline model.
How to use the program
First, use your SEM program to obtain a discrepancy for each of three models:
- The model you want to evaluate
- The saturated model
- A highly constrained baseline model, such as a model that requires the measured variables to be uncorrelated.
You can use any of the following discrepancies (but you have to use the same discrepancy for all three models):
- Amos's "Function of log-likelihood"
- -2 log(likelihood)
- The likelihood ratio chi square statistic (which will be 0 for the saturated model)
With the discrepancies for the three models in hand, fill in the white boxes in
the Model Fit Calculator window. The program will fill in the remaining, gray
boxes. Right-clicking a white box gives help.
Program requirements
The program requires that Amos 4 be installed, but you can use any SEM program to calculate discrepancies.
How to install the program
Download and execute SemFitCalculatorSetup.exe.
